FBI Identifies Native American Woman’s Body Found Near Pine Ridge

Body Confirmed As Missing Pine Ridge Woman

The Rapid City Journal reports, on Friday afternoon the FBI confirmed discovery of the body of a young mother of two, missing for nearly three weeks from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

The body of Emily Blue Bird, 24, was found Thursday as family members and other volunteers searched for her near Pine Ridge.

FBI Chief Division Counsel Kyle Loven says the matter is under investigation and he could not comment further.

Blue Bird’s aunt, Carla Cheyenne, of Rapid City, says she knew Blue Bird all her life and the family is very sad.
